TV Tupi
This piece of work was inspired by the launch of TV Tupi in São Paulo (Brazil) on September 18, 1950. That was the first television network in South America. The new media intensified the spread of ideas that was initially made possible by the invention of paper. If the television has enabled a broader access to knowledge, it has also influenced our perception of places. That is, physical landscapes – the height of hills, the smell of flowers or the feel of sand – were then transformed into images on the screen. As in a collage, representations from the most different parts of the globe are now often edited to fit into a single TV Show.
