What connects a collection of samples of historic paper, the archives of two closed printworks and the stories of people who worked there, and the idea of the seaside as a place of recovery, recuperation and rehabilitation?
They’re all the starting point for projects for our projects
For First Friday (est. 2009), Appletye explore how heritage can be the inspiration for contemporary art practice, and how the arts can help us better see and understand the heritage around us.
We will be launching our project Print Works, made possible with funding from National Heritage Lottery Fund, giving an update on the Paper Trail project and announcing a new project for 2021.
